Effective June 1, 2010, the United States Patent and Trademark Office has assigned Patent Number US 7,726,064 B2, Titled, "Folding Crustacean Trap."

Our Patent has been granted!

The magnitude of this achievement is hard to understand if you have not been through the process. We filed our application December 19, 2007—the process took two and a half years and thousands upon thousands of dollars.

Having the idea is a small part of the process. I know many of you have expressed excitement at seeing someone come up with a solution to a problem and taking that idea as far as we have. Congratulations to Jamie Harju for coming up with the Collapsible Crustacean Trap.

We have received reports that thieves are already copying the Crab Pod and selling them. This is just the same as breaking into our home and stealing our possessions.

We are asking our many customers and supporters to refuse to be a part of this theft and to report it to us so that we can stop it.
